10 months

This past month, being at home with you, has been great and it's gone by so fast. I almost forgot your monthly post. Ironically, it almost seems that although we've spend so much more time together now, I've taken less pictures of you and have less time to ponder my thoughts about you --seeing as how that took a significant part of my time while I was at work, I guess ;)

You continue to be such a happy little guy that I never have the internal dialog of "if only I could go there, but I can't because you'll do ....". I'm able to go about our day with not too much special planning for you other than food and diapers. You go along with the flow. You're happy to be carted around in the car for errands, Sofia's activities, and anything else that comes your way.

"Oh, so this is how it's done."

This past month, you have managed to hold your own bottle successfully. Thank you. Every little bit helps. I'm not too impressed by your eating efforts though. You are very picky about texture. Basically, there can be no texture in your food what so ever, otherwise you make a gagging face and accompanying neck convulsion if you so much as encounter anything like a pee or meat the consistency of pate. You also shake your head no to signal you won't have any of it and sometimes just when you feel like dancing or something. The major milestone reached, of course, was crawling. You now crawl around everywhere like a pro. You also wave night-night and bye-bye.

I don't think you've grown much as you can still manage to squeeze into some cute 0-3 month hand-me-down onsies. You mostly wear 6-9 month old clothes but most pants have a hard time staying up. Your feet seem to have grown a bit but I still see no hope in site that they will be able to support and balance your body in any attempt to even stand by yourself by the the age of one. We'll see, maybe you'll prove me wrong.

Now, I've always said you are content and laid back little guy, but that's not to say you don't have a little streak of attitude sometimes. Unfortunately the attitude manifests itself in the form of kind of a girly scream. It's kind of embarrassing. You usually are unphased by my attempts to stop the screaming but one day I decided to be stern with you and after a couple of "No's" you quit. You also enjoy throwing all the contents out of your crib upon awaking which usually consists of a very small white jersey teddy bear and a mini ugly doll, sometimes, just to show me that you really mean it, you pull the fishies off your mobile and throw those too for good measure.

We have crawl

After much deliberation over which limb should start the crawling momentum, swaying back and forth, push ups, and settling for the rolling method of locomotion, we finally have crawling. It was, in fact, the right foot that finally took the initiative to give the first push.

After mastering the monumental milestone of crawling, Marcelo has changed. I think greed has taken over him and his sense of self importance has gone through the roof. No longer is he content to be a cute little lap puppy, he must crawl and explore and see what kind of small objects he can find on the carpet to stick in his mouth.

And I might have neglected to mention, we also have two top teeth. Those came in right at 9 months. You have such a nack for symmetry, Marcelo.
